These beautiful animals of Irish descent began arriving in North America in the early 1960’s I arrived in Canada from the Emerald Isle a little later in the 1980’s. Funnily enough even though I grew up in Ireland and had many dogs I didn’t begin my personal journey with Wheatens until the late 1990’s, my good friend and fellow breeder had a beautiful little girl called Maggie. Maybe it was our shared heritage, but I thought she was a fantastic wee dog and fell in love with the breed right away. My husband, my daughters and I actively became involved with Wheatens in 2009 introducing them into our family, our home and most importantly our hearts. I am a member in good standing of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Association of Canada and The Canadian Kennel Club. We breed Irish coats and North American coats and are totally committed to raising limited litters of healthy, happy, well socialized puppies. The puppies are handled daily by myself and my family and leave us as well-adjusted pets. All our puppies go to their new homes at 8 weeks old, with their first set of shots, dewormed, micro chipped and with a two-year health guarantee against hereditary defects. We at Urneybrae Wheatens maintain a lifelong interest in all our dogs and will always be available to answer questions or help. We love receiving regular updates and pictures of all our puppies.
